Beautiful Dillon, Colorado, we love this town!

By far one of the coolest playgrounds in Colorado. The equipment is diverse and extensive, it is fantastic.

But the best thing about this playground:

They have positioned the park and the picnic tables to take advantage of this amazing view. LOVE IT!

We highly recommend Marina Park. Pack a picnic and head west on I-70 just about an hour from Denver. You can also rent boats at the marina, eat at some of the breweries and also go shopping at the outlets in Silverthorne.

Hiwan Homestead House Evergreen
Just 30 minutes west of Denver is beautiful Evergreen, Colorado. One family favorite is the Hiwan Homestead House. Step into the past as you wander through many buildings and tour the main house. There are guided tours available at no charge. There is a seperate playhouse that is a site to see, it is really fun! Also, be sure to check out the blacksmith/print shop and the guest house. Real fun place to visit, since it is in Evergreen, plan a day trip up. You can see the lake, eat ice cream at Baskin Robbins on the river and enjoy the Hiwan.

This 17-room log lodge was placed on the National Register of Historic Places because of its unique construction.

Hiwan’s restored 1890-1930 era rooms illustrate a comfortable style of early mountain summer home living. As a local history museum, it maintains active craft and interpretive school programs as well as changing exhibitions, which are sponsored by the Jefferson County Historical Society.
