Anderson Park is popular for folks from all around the NW Denver area.  It is a huge park with lots to offer.  There is a Recreation Center, skatepark, playground, sports fields, a creek, shade trees, and covered tables.  We like it for a nice walk around, a lot of different activities going on throughout the park.

Westlands Park Greenwood VillageClimbing Structure
The park is new, fun, huge and offers plenty for all! It is sprawling, with playgrounds, pavilions, an awesome water feature, paths, fields, and a super-secret, super cool treehouse! You can spend the entire day here. The playground features several different play areas, with ramps, tunnels, bridges, poles, slides, lookout tower, silly swings, regular swings, sooo many features! Next to the playground areas is the really cool “treehouse”. It is a wooden, 2-stroy structure complete with bridges, lookout areas, and a ladder. Hidden amongst huge shade trees, a must see. Further down the path is a pavilion available for rent and past that, there is a water feature. This is a really fun one with a “creek”, waterfall and other areas of fun. It is unique.

Cherry Knolls Park
This is a popular park in a popular area, just a block over from the Streets at Southglenn. Located behind the Safeway on the SE corner of Arapahoe and University. The park is located in a little valley with Bear Creek running through it, same with the metro-wide bike path. There is a baseball field and grassy fields. The playground includes cute interactive games all around, even find the tracks – find animal “tracks” and match them to the diagram to see what the animal is. There are baby swings, bridges, monkey bars, slides. The creek proves to be a fun place for the children. It is rocky I strongly suggest water shoes or sandals while in the creek. I’ve seen kids catch crawfish in there!

Loretto Heights Park Playground
Loretto Heights Park conjures up memories of my childhood. My Grandmother lived nearby and we would walk to this park just up the hill. The view is amazing… I have heard that Loretto Heights Park is the highest point in the Metro area. Although is not updated and it doesn’t have a lot of options but there is a huge grassy area, playground and covered picnic benches. There is also a rose garden with over 50 bushes. The view alone is worth the trip. There is also a nice walking path around the grass field.

Cornerstone Park Playground

Cornerstone Park Playground

This is a family favorite, we can spend a few hours here, especially since Belleview park is directly across the street and accessible via an underground tunnel. This is also located just behind Colorado Journey putt putt, so you may want to work that in to your visit.

Cornerstone Park Sprayground

The spray-ground consists of a huge flower that shoots water out intermittently. There are also holes all over shot water all around. The play-sets are separated, one for the older kids and one for the younger children. one unique thing about this park is the sand pit, complete with equipment to play and experiment with sand. I like the surface they have under the big playground, it is that non-heat foamy stuff. Plenty of open grassy fields, basketball courts, and covered picnic tables. If you go in the summer, plan on getting there early if you want shade, a huge coveted part of the park, since it is scarce.
